Nixed by the Nixon Library

Politics & Government

Posted by WriteTheCompany.com

In addition to the film Frost/Nixon, you can learn a lot about our 37th President at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace Foundation. I don’t have a library card to get in there, but I thought I’d do a little research of my own anyway…

Dear Richard Nixon Library Librarians,

Watching the movie Frost/Nixon brought back quite a few memories. What did you think of Frank Langella’s performance? Do you think he would have made the former President proud? Out of curiosity, since you knew him personally (President Nixon, not Frank Langella), how many inaccuracies did you count in the entire film?

I know you maintain a wonderful collection of important keepsakes and memorabilia at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace Foundation. I’m not an artist, but the only thing I can actually draw is Richard Nixon. Please accept this drawing with my many thanks for preserving his accomplishments and legacy.

Final Thoughts: I haven’t heard back from the Richard Nixon Library. I’m sure they are quite busy. Probably have a lot of reading to catch up on. If you ever visit the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace Foundation, please ask if my illustration is on the “Put on Display One Day” waiting list.

Sometimes, when you contact a place of business you feel the frost when they don’t respond. Yet just knowing that I made an attempt to support their efforts makes me feel it was worthwhile to Write The Company.
